Event Details

MACLAS is pleased announce our second interdisciplinary digital conference, a two-day event which will take place on November 12-13, 2026. We invite undergraduate students, graduate students, and scholars from all fields—humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, arts, and professional programs—to present their work. Presentations on any topic related to Latin America, the Caribbean, or Latino/a/e communities—past or present—will be considered.

Submissions must be entered HERE By October 23, 2026.

The conference is free and open to all who wish to observe. There are no fees to submit your work, but you must be a MACLAS member to participate in the conference. You can join MACLAS by submitting a membership application either with your paper/proposal, or prior to the conference dates once your work has been accepted. All conference presentations are eligible to win MACLAS’s new Jack Child Award, which recognizes outstanding papers and presentations at MACLAS Digital Conference and Lecture Series events. A minimum of two undergraduate student presentations and two graduate student presentations will be selected from the digital conference. Award recipients will be selected by the Digital Conference Planning and Awards Committee, and will be invited to present their work at MACLAS’s annual (physical) spring conference with their conference fees waived.
